Praise: The Secret to Wonder-Victory

Pastor OlowokereI strongly encourage you to turn-on the power of the God of wonders and enjoy “wonder-victories” –victories that come in the most unprecedented manner; victories that come only from praising God!

God always gives His people victory not with weapons made with the hands of men – the heavy arsenals and the most advanced weapons kind - but with weapons made from the hearts and the lips of His people: PRAISE! (Hebrews 13: 15, “By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, this is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name” & “Let every thing that hath breath, praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.”- Psalm 150: 6).

Note: With “Praise-Weapon” there is no war that the enemy brings your way that you will not win. (Enemy: Any event, person or circumstance that contradict God’s purpose in your life).

When Will We be Free?

WHEN WILL WE BE FREE?
My favourite philosopher now dead
Very true words of life then said
Man is born free (yes born free)
But everywhere he is in chains (not free).
We live but don’t for we are not free
We smile but don’t for we are not happy
We wake but sleep for things go wrong
We pray and hope and [...]

North American Slave Narratives

qbrown4.jpgThe University Library of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has a sleuth of digitalized literature that documents the American southern history and culture. The collection includes narratives of the lives of former slaves and oral histories on Christianity and even the Great War.

I have randomly chosen a narrative on Phillis Wheatley from the collection. Phillis was the first Negro poet.

‘Twas mercy brought me from my Pagan land,
Taught my benighted soul to understand
That there’s a God–that there’s a Savior, too,
Once I redemption neither sought nor knew. –Phillis Wheatley, 1754–1783 (?)
