It’s Update Galore on AFricanLoft!
Here on AfricanLoft, we’re ever committed to ensuring that only the best is good enough for our readers and contributors. In addition to the Main Homepage which has been redesigned to ensure easier navigation and better presentation of contents, we’re pleased to announce the following updates in the Community pages:
Multimedia: 100MB max file size upload limit!
This is a gigantic leap from what what we started with. This applies to all video, photo, audio file/podcast (audioblog), and video-blogs (vlogs) uploads.
A total overhaul of Member’s Homepage
Members’ My Home page has been overhauled and now includes features that give your members a real-time look into what their friends are doing in your community. For instance, the “My Friends & My News” block contains a running list of all your friends’ actions in the community, including when they upload media, comment on media, comment on profiles, join groups, participate in message board discussions, etc. This list is also updated when someone comments on your profile.
The forum is completely redesigned with better functionality. Members have a new set of powerful administration tools to easily create new forums and edit any of the activity inside their forums.
All contents are Widgetized
Widgets? Okay, this isn’t really an update, however; it is a feature that perhaps makes AfricanLoft more user-centric. Do you know you can literally pull any content contributed to the Community pages for use elsewhere? Load your media on AfricanLoft community and resend or share remotely via widgets. We are also available to help customize your widgets, just ask!
Hyper-syndication via Gigya’s “Wildfire” service
This is a simply novel addition, AfricanLoft members can remotely add contents to their favorite social media sites via Gigya’s service. In addition to the standard “embed” code, Members’ play page now contains a link to “Post this on another network or blog” which allows members to post any media directly to their blog or favorite social media site, like Facebook, Wordpress, Friendster, MySpace, Orkut, etc.
RSS Feeds For All List, Play and Member Profile Pages
There is now an RSS feed associated with every List, Play and Member Profile page in the AfricanLoft community. Mmebers can subscribe to these feeds by clicking on the links at the bottom right of each of these pages, now they can syndicate their content anywhere.
AfricanLoft Community continues to be the place to be; do you have an account: joining is brisk and free! Join today, startt mingling!

Thanks B! It’s been a tough road, but there is cause to be thankful. As the site matures, the need to improve and upgrade becomes even more tedious.
