Breaking Invincible Barriers

Dearly beloved,

We have entered into a new year and I pray that this year will be a year of peace, breakthroughs and blessings for us all in Jesus name. I thank God almighty for holding us together and protecting us all from dangers, attacks and problems too hard for us to handle. “The right hand of God does valiantly” and so we are protected and shielded from all sorts of enemy fire, for we are His beloved. I thank all those who have contacted me by phone and in writing to encourage me, and more so to request for more biblical writings, for the Word of God is indeed life, to all that breathes it. As promised, I will endeavour from now on to regularly share the gospel of good news with all the brothers and sisters and fellow workers in the vineyard of the Lord.

TOPIC – Breaking Invincible Barriers is divided into 3 parts in reverse order for the purpose of this paper. This is for a clear understanding of the topic.
a. Barriers
b. Invincible Barriers
c. Breaking Invincible Barriers

BARRIERS:
Definition: - a structure, an object, or anything (physical or spiritual) that is designed to impede free movement, cause obstacle, obstruct or bar passage, limit progress, create boundaries, or keep good things apart (e.g. the love between us and the Father). Barriers simply put are designed to block our way, insight or understanding. Barriers make it difficult if not impossible for us to progress, love, and render us disabled one way or the other for we do not develop or achieve.
Barriers could be self inflicted or imposed on us by others.

What does the Bible say about Barriers?
The Holy Book identifies so many barriers to our spiritual development, happiness or peaceful co-existence on earth, e.g. Disobedience (the first and greatest sin); Idolatry; Unrighteous living (sin); corruption; deception, jealousy, indiscipline, impatience; intolerance; and the big word – immorality.
Galatians 5:19 - 21 mentions the works of the flesh:

“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God”.

Apostle Paul in his epistle to the churches in Galatia admonished them for allowing False Teachings to create barriers in their lives thereby departing from the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Galatians 1:6-9:

“I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed”.

He then called them Foolish Galatians for allowing this to happen. –Galatians 3:1 for indeed they began the work of God “in Spirit” and then turned to the “flesh” – 3:3. From this we note two things about Barriers – People will only succeed in placing barriers on our spiritual lives if we allow them to; and this would be a foolish thing to do. (I recommend a reading of Galatians especially Chapter 5).
Lastly Barriers could be visible (e.g. as listed in Gal 5:19-21; or invincible. We will concentrate on Invincible Barriers.
INVINCIBLE BARRIERS:
These are mostly caused by the minions (servants) of Satan, whose sole mission is always to attack the work of God in this earth i.e. aimed at stopping us from thriving in the glory of God. They are present everywhere and especially in churches (planted there by Lucifer the fallen angel himself). As a reminder Job 1:6-7 explains the position & mission of the devil:

“Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, from going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in It”.

(see also Job 2:2). This is complemented in Rev 12:9

“And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him”.

It is important to note that this work of Satan and his cohorts will continue until the rapture, so invincible barriers would be an ongoing concern until then. In fact they are progressively getting worse. As Jesus mentioned in Matthew 11:12;

“And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force”

Above passage holds a clue to how we can break invincible barriers i.e. the violence suffered by the children of the kingdom are so deep-rooted and can be all consuming and we need Spiritual Aggression to break them (prayer warfare, fasting, deliverance, night vigil etc).

Invincible Barriers are also strongholds that hold our lives captive. We must be delivered from these strongholds. Examples are:
1. FAMILY: e.g. Story of Laban and Jacob – Genesis 29 -31. Gen 31:2-3: “And Jacob beheld the countenance of Laban, and, behold, it was not toward him as before .And the LORD said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers, and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee”.
2. TERRITORIAL SPIRITS: e.g. the story of King Saul – 1Samuel 18-31. It is important to have a full understanding of TS so I have summarised Saul’s life as follows: Loved by God and Chosen as King 1Samuel 9, Disobeyed God- (15:1-9), Rejected by God (15:10-35), Spirit of God departed(16:14-23) ( I pray against this always for it is deadly). Possessed by evil spirit (18) When the spirit of God departed from Saul, territorial spirits took over. Tried to kill David so many times (18-30). Consulted witches (28) and finally killed in Battle by the enemy (31).
3. OUR ADVERSARIES: e.g. David and Saul (as above 1Samuel 18 -30)

To be continued in Part 2…
