Breaking the Vicious Cycle 2

THE 7 HELLS OF NIGERIA (part 2)

I recommend a reading of part 1 for clarity and better understanding as this is a continuation…

HELL 4 – BAD LEADERSHIP

Now this is one hell of a hell in Nigeria. I do not profess to know the description of hell and pray I never have to see it to describe it. But I will say 1 thing, if there are greater hells and lesser hells, this hell of Bad Leadership is the father and mother of lesser hells of; political hell, lack of good infrastructure and basic amenities, poor health (bothering on no health) standards, poor education, total sense of disillusionment and mistrust of leaders. Bad leadership has contributed to the death and torture of many Nigerians; bad leadership has caused mass exit of skilled Nigerians abroad (brain drain); bad leadership has led to names like Abacha, Babangida and Obasanjo becoming accursed names in Nigeria; Bad leadership has turned Nigerian fortunes and fate upside down. The examples are inexhaustive. The Hell of Bad Leadership needs to be tackled but this is one hell that is hard to reform except the bad leaders themselves have a change of heart or throw Nigeria into revolution for anarchy. Bad leadership needs to be attacked with fervent prayers and constant reminders of what needs to be done by the led to the leaders. One thing is sure, bad leaders will definitely not escape the real hell they have unleashed on the people. Revelations 2:14-16 says:

“But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of
Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality. Thus you also have those who hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.[a] Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth”.

HELL 5 – RITUAL KILLINGS

You must agree with me that this hell is getting more profound, more widespread and becoming a major concern in Nigeria. The tabloid tells of many of such. Occultism, black magic, & rituals, have become the vogue for those seeking power and money at all cost. Some examples sound far fetched but I am told they are real: http://community.africanloft.com/kickapps/service/displayMediaPlayPage.kickAction?mediaId=18416&mediaType=BLOG&as=4392&b :Ritual Killings, use of fetish and practicing occultism is rife in high and low places in Nigeria. It has been linked with Governors, Senators, Churches, Families, Students and the Poor. Cultism is rife in universities and higher institutions. Most Area boys, armed robbers, big boys and rich mamas are tainted with ritual killings and occultism. Some even brag of it. I have often summed it up as signs of the end times where we constantly wrestle against principalities and powers and wickedness in high places. My question is, why oh why are we turning the hands of the clock back to revisit our dark sinister past? The election tribunals have been visited by some “leaders” heavy laden with charms and juju of all descriptions. Those caught have not been brought to books properly. Fresh human heads and skulls pop out in people’s bags at police check points. Mutilated corpses are deposited on roads with private parts, breasts etc missing. Young children disappear and no trace of them. Some people are walking dead for their sexual secretions have been used for rituals. I can go on. You don’t even know who to trust, and I for one will not even allow a church pastor to lay hands on me or touch my head as a result of mistrust. This fifth hell is real and far reaching.

HELL 6 - DRUG TRAFFICKING

Like many of the hells mentioned above, the hell of drug trafficking is another real menace that has always gripped Nigeria. The desire to get rich at whatever cost. I grew up thinking that drug wars are linked to only the Italian Mafia, Columbian Barons and Jamaica. WRONG. Nigeria is very much linked to the drug trade and the vendors are from all works of life in Nigeria. Governors, Obas/Igwes (Kings) have been caught with drugs. Musicians, Nollywood actors and actresses, Pharmacists and Doctors, the elites, the underdogs, students and teenagers are not left out in this trade. Drug trafficking attracts the death sentence in some countries, and life imprisonment in others. What is the penalty in Nigeria? Kudos to the NDLEA for they have been having many success stories arresting couriers at Murtala Mohammed Airport e.g. http://odili.net/news/source/2008/jan/28/21.html .What we need now, to add to this diligence, is a more high profile monitoring system and proper surveillance that would lead NDLEA to the Barons and Sponsors for those arrested are only the carriers and not the brains behind most of the sophisticated, high profile drug trade.

HELL 7 – IMMORALITY/RELIGIOUS DECADENCE

These two have been weighted and equally scored same marks for Hell 7. In fact both work together most of the time. We have lately heard of tales of incest and taboo. The name OBJ has been linked to numerous immoral affairs including sleeping with his son’s wife, in addition to many concubines and mistresses. In the same breath he professes to be a refined man of God and even has places of worship in his numerous villas. In churches, immorality has become the order of the day in spite of people openly mounting the rostrum to decry same. For love of money, & to get contracts, married women sleep around. The fear of HIV/Aids has not even deterred many. Abuja has a high concentration of babes, mamas and papas sleeping recklessly with one another. Bottom Power = Money Power >&< Powerhouse Power. So this is the balance to their equation, but mind you these are all powerless powers that can be annihilated in one second by the Omnipotent Power of the living God. Immorality has changed the position of the spirituality of many Nigerians. I understand women that go consult “babalawos” (juju priests), give both money and body! Sex, Money and Power have taken prominence in Nigeria. The 7th Hell is burning stronger. Even schoolchildren have been drawn into this hell. 12 -13 year olds have no qualms sleeping with accursed men aged 50 – 75 years old”! Randybabies vs sugardaddies! Immorality and Religious decadence is well mixed with ritual killings and occultism. Where do we go from here? In universities, you either give in freely or it is taken by force, I mean SEX. They don’t call this rape anymore. It is the order of the day. Teachers/Lecturers demand this as a prerequisite to exam success. Male students fight for their own crumpets and would even murder to get it, and murder if denied! I am at a loss as to suggestions to quell or quash this 7th Hell. Can you help me please?

Now as I said above, although I have mentioned the 7 major hells of Nigeria, there are so many lesser hells in the offing and this could even become greater hells in the future if left unchecked. Although I have concentrated on Nigeria, for she is my country and primary concern, Africa is equally affected by these hells as my secondary concern.

If you are tempted to hiss and say, “here we go again, washing dirty linen, Slambanging Nigeria etc”, think twice please. The truth is bitter but the truth is the truth. In knowing the truth we could work harder to be set free. We constantly need to remind ourselves of the evil prognosis, so that in diagnosing them, we administer the right medication. The world is gripped in greater and lesser hells. Some countries could even have more than 7 major hells and some less. In purgatory, lost souls are given a chance to undergo a state of temporary punishment so that they could be admitted into heaven. Possibly Nigeria’s 7 Hells cannot automatically be changed to 7 Heavens but if we see it as moving from Hell to Purgatory, our heaven could be assured. Nigerian leaders, beware. Nigerian citizens, be rejuvenated in the fight against
Nigeria’s 7 Hells. Nigerian posterity needs to be shielded and saved from further sufferings, carnage and death.

I sign of with the prophetic words of John in Revelations 2;29, 3:6, 13,22:

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the…”

For now I rest my case, but only for the time being.

Nigerians be blessed, for it is not the end, but a means to an end of the vicious cycle.
