Cholera Contained – Mugabe

Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe says the country’s cholera outbreak had been contained. He spoke as South African officials declared part of their northernmost province a disaster area, blaming Zimbabwe’s cholera outbreak spreading across the border. Nearly 800 people have been killed by cholera in Zimbabwe, prompting Western leaders to call for the ousting of President Mugabe. The Zimbabwean leader said in a televised address that there was now no case for the toppling of his government since cholera had been stopped. However, the World Health Organisation has reported this week that the cholera crisis in Zimbabwe had worsened. – Panos, London.
