Dambe, Traditional Boxing, Offers Opportunities for Poor Young Men in Nigeria
PODCAST, Nigeria: Competing in the generations-old practice of traditional boxing used to be the preserve of butchers and meat handlers in northern Nigeria. But, in recent years, poor young men from a variety of backgrounds are being drawn to the boxing arena, in the hope of winning cash, prizes and respect.
