My issue is with the inability to listen by the likes of Bono. I’m pretty sure that inability stems from some sort of arrogance. I admire what Bono does for Africa, don’t get me wrong. He didn’t have to do it…Coming from humble starts (a concert for Africa), Bono is now Z authority on African development and getting-a-shut-up-and just-listen-to-me attitude about it…I have a suggestion. Bono should do an honorary degree in development studies. I’ll personally lobby the schools to sponsor his studies and arrange long-distance lessons. Trust me, his development-empire will come tumbling down, and he will learn to listen. I’ll even start him off with the process of looking for a school.

This is a very good idea! It may be hard to arrange, though, given his celebrity. Ideally, he would study somewhere with some African professors.

Your criticism of BONO is half backed > Why? Because even those from Africa especially those from Ethiopia are self deluded in mambo jumbo 3000 years of history. If you are from Addis, have you been more than 90% of Addis, where toilet and other wastes are flowing like river and people are living in Ashanti towns. Leave out the street from air port to 6 kilo. The rest is full of s…t. That is in the so called capital city. Imagine life outside Addis:
Poor transport system, imagine small country like UK with so many rail way lines > Ethiopia stuck in the 19th century French build single line around 500km rail way line for more than a century. What do you think when people like Bono think, when they arrive where the time stand still. i.e. we are 3000 years back in civilization compared to the rest of the world.
I know you might jump up and down, when you read this bitter truth. Believe me, if you are studying about development, by now you should know that EUROPE (I MEAN THE WHOLE WHITE RACE) IS USING EVERY EXCUSE TO KEEP OUT BLACK AFRICA FROM DEVELOPMENT investment. They put conditions such as Africa should rid off corruption. Can you imagine if the recent corruption in financial market especially in UK & USA was the result of African continent? What about the British parliament corruption, if it was in Africa? They cry Africa is corrupt continent BUT >>>>
If Europe or the white want they can pore money like mad like they are doing now in Asia. THE WEST IS POURING MONEY LIKE MAD IN ONE PARTY OFFICIALLY COMMUNIST STATE CHINA. WHAT ABOUT THAT? When they poured money in countries under dictatorship in Asia & S America. If you read history General Suharto was Indonesian dictator and many countries in S E Asia and Brazil in S America was under military dictatorship. BUT Europe & USA (under the name of the World Bank &) poured trillions of dollars. THEY HAVE SEEN WITHIN THE LAST 40-50 YEARS MEDIEVAL BUDDHIST COUNTRIES IN ASIA DEVELOPED AND have OVER TAKEN SOME OF THE EUROPEAN COUNTRIES.) Which means Europe will not make the same mistake by investing in black African development and see African catch up with the rest of humanity. Instead people like Bono and charities like OXFAM (Oxafam pay out less than 25p for every £1.00 they collected from public, the rest is for lavish salary of their staffs) are making a living by begging for “dying children of Africa”.
Don’t forget Ethiopia is geographically positioned or surrounded by the most volatile religions in the world i.e. Middle East and Africa and also don’t forget, countries like Egypt will not allow Ethiopia to stand on her foot and develop> which means if Ethiopia start developing the 1st thing is to stop begging for food and rain it has to manage its water resources. That is why Egypt is indirectly behind all or most of the wars in Ethiopia. Countries in Somalia or narrow minded dictators in Eritrea, Sudan, Egypt and Yemen have been plotting to destroy Ethiopia from that region if they can.
I wrote long comment,because, you are blaming the messenger > Bono and other so called celebrities (to revive their fame)and charities (job creation for 1000’s in UK alone) like Oxfam are using 3rd world for their benefit.
