Guinea: IBB, Former Nigerian Military Head of State Endorses Coup

Former Military President retired General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, who returned from Guinea yesterday, said the military coup in the West African country is timely and patriotic.

Babangida, who was in Guinea as an envoy of President Umaru Yar’adua, told the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) that the military intervention has saved the country from another theatre of human and material waste. He said the country was already polarised and tensed before the armed forces came up to save the situation. – Daily Trust via All Africa.

Well, no Military coup should be contemplated in Nigeria, not now, not in the future. We had our fair share of Militia in Nigeria and know enough not to ever want the soldiers in control (just in case Maradonna IBB has ideas)…

What does one expect from IBB? He has been involved in almost all coups that happened in Nigeria!

I hope it is not the same foreign hands whom sponsored you into power through coup are the same ones sponsoring the Guinea coup. Now you are enjoying your loot from our Oil money and you are investmenting in foreign lands and therefore benefiting their economy at the expenses of the Nigerian masses. I hope you did not go to tell the Guinea coup leaders that they can be free and enjoy their loots just as you did. The FG was wrong to send an ex-coup head of state to represent Nigeria to the coup plagued Guinea.
