Nigeria: Buhari and Babangida Slapped me 10 years After Abacha’s Death!

ibb-buhari.JPG

How I wish I wielded some supernatural power! How I would have dealt with these three men – Mohammadu Buhari, Ibrahim Babangida, and Abdulsalami Abubakar!

Thanks to those three, I learnt something new today:

Contrary to what Nigerians have been told and read in the media, the late General Sani Abacha did not loot the treasury after all! The allegations against Abacha are baseless, and nothing but rumors!

Yes, this is the truth, according to Buhari, Babangida, and Abubakar – the ‘three wisest men’ in Nigeria.

abacha_abubakar.JPGThe revelation came out after the remembrance prayers marking 10th anniversary of the death of Abacha. These men are former military heads of state, they know Abacha more than you and I, so they know what they are saying!

In their infinite wisdom, these men not only pronounced Sani Abacha innocent, they have deemed Sani Abacha a Nigerian hero, whose economic policies and nationalistic posture meant well for Nigeria. Abacha, they said, “contributed his best to the nation’s economy”.

This is Babangida on Abacha:

Courageous, loyal and honest military head of state who stood for the unity and development of the country during his years in government…it is not true that he looted public treasury. I knew who Abacha was because I was close to him..

Abacha was a courageous person who stood firmly in handling the affairs of the country during his regime.

There is no doubt, during his administration as head of state, Abacha contributed his best to the nation’s economy which we are still enjoying.

Buhari on Abacha:

[The allegations against Abacha are] “baseless”…ten years after Abacha, those allegations remain unproven because of lack of facts”.

Abubarkar, Abacha’s predecessor, has this statement credited to him:

[Abubakar] commended his predecessor for initiating Vision 2010, saying that the economic vision of the present administration termed Vision 2020 is a replica of Abacha’s 2010 initiative.

Even though there are several instances when ‘eminent individuals’ have stood up to re-engineer the past, and rewrite history, but those occasions do not compare to this: Proclaiming a man that can be described as the indisputable greatest tyrant in Nigerian history, a national hero!

By their statements, Babangida, Buhari and Abubakar have each slapped me and every other Nigerian in the face. They have also spat in our eyes! And there is nothing we can do about it!

Tragic!

These three “wise men” must really take all Nigerians for fools. Talk about insulting our intelligence. Nonsense! I guess what they are really trying to say – is compared to them especially Babangida and Abubarkar, it appears as if Abacha stole nothing. They have a nerve and it’s all because our system is failing us because none of these men should walking around freely. On a good day EFCC should have locked up these men and made them rot in jail for all they have looted from us.

its a known fact(or maybe you are not aware, the only way to be relevant in the system is to be a former looter, buy over some hungry lot(after being discredited)and become an opinion leader, a sage or infact a living legend. you can never get it wrong that way and before you know it so many other faces are red hot from several slaps! God help us.
