Power Arrangement Reached in Kenya
After much violence, mayhem and blood-shed the two players in the Kenyan conflict agree to a deal, at last.
Kenya’s President Mwai Kibaki and opposition leader Raila Odinga have signed a power-sharing agreement which will see the creation of a prime minister post, reports BBC, the details of the power-arrangement can be on the BBC website.
Even if this deal last and put an end to the violence, a lot of effort will be required to reconcile the warring tribal groups; a full recovery may even take years to manifest. The Kenyan post-election violence is another clear reminder of what ensures when African political leaders become reckless and bent on usurping power at any cost. It’s a wonder how they sleep at night!
