Yahoo Partners Seed Media in Nigeria

Below is a recent article on Nigerian Business Day:

Yahoo Incorporated, one of the world’s leading internet service providers, has appointed Seed Media Limited, a Nigerian based, new media and marketing company as its exclusive media sales representative in Sub-Saharan Africa.

According to Cathy Sanni, partner manager of Seed Media Limited, this opportunity affords Nigerian brands to advertise on the platform as well as build strategic business partnership in the country.

Yahoo is also expected to use the platform to provide better quality service to its Nigerian public, regarded as one of the biggest Yahoo user communities in Africa with an estimated online community of over five million unique users monthly.

Seed Media, in a press release made available to business Day, stated that Yahoo generates over 250 million impressions monthly. Nigeria ranks second after Egypt with over one billion impressions created monthly.

This partnership starts with Nigeria and will gradually move into other key Yahoo markets within the continent.

The Director, Global Sales Development, Yahoo Incorporated, Marvin Liao, noted that the opportunity offers the firm an opportunity to peep into the African continent and support the growth of Yahoo, which according to him, has witnessed tremendous followership in Africa.

He further noted that the Nigerian Market was very important to Yahoo as they begin to drive the growth of strategic business partnership in Africa and also create local domains. According to him, Seed Media was a like-minded company with the resources to support the partnership.

The President/Chief Executive Officer, Seed Media Limited, Dominic Essien, expressed satisfaction Yahoo Incorporated for the partnership, stating that Nigerian brands, including top government agencies were constantly looking for credible, alternative media channels to position their brand, as well as delivery targeted messages to her market.

Seed Media Limited is a dynamic and positive new media and marketing company involved in new media marketing, search engine optimisation and sales promotions. With reputable data, Yahoo will provide media buyers in Nigeria with a legitimate and transparent media option. The platform is also open to strategic business partnerships.

What I find strange is that the Nigerian Seed Media outfit doing business with one of the most prominent web portal in the world has no web domain of its own. Strange! I wonder what type of partnership this is!

I wonder as well, hmm hmm.
So where can we find out more about Seed media ( which is still to grow a website) at any Nigerian embassy ? Nigerian chamber of commerce and industry ?

Since they serve the whole region of west Africa , how can a company based in Ivory Coast contact then and find out their services and solutions ?

I checked out the weblink supplied by webround and the site looks basic/generic. Was expecting more than that for a company that wants to support Yahoo!.
